“We don’t think car rental should be boring,” said Johannes Boeinghoff, co-president of Sixt rent a car USA. “So we decided to inject some excitement into the booking process and give people the chance to get something even better than an affordable car rental: a free car rental.”
“The Sixt name is well known in Europe,” added Boeinghoff. “But we’re relatively new in the U.S., so people are always asking if there’s some connection to the number six. For once, we thought it would be fun to play with that.”
In order to qualify, bookings had to be made for pickup at participating Sixt locations in the U.S., Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, according to the company.
Once they entered the sweepstakes, users were immediately notified whether they have won or lost. Up to $300 of the original rental price will be credited back to the winning customers, according to the company.
