In order to acknowledge the important work that National Health Service staff and essential workers do everyday, Sixt has launched a new offer in the U.K. to support people as England enters a second lockdown.

For the majority of these key workers, public transport is the main way of traveling to the workplace. However, with COVID cases on the rise, considering different modes of transport is advisable to help stay safe. For those who don’t own own a car, renting a personal vehicle might just be the way to go.

The offer details:

  • 30% off all categories for all essential workers.

  • Book by the Dec. 2.

  • The valid length of rental: one to 27 days.

  • Last returns by Dec. 20.

The offer is valid for both prepaid, as well as pay on arrival reservations.

Many essential workers have to travel long distances to get to work. Whether it’s a teacher, civil servant, construction worker, support worker, carer or supermarket worker, it’s never been more important to ensure they’re getting to work safely.

Sixt is asking anyone who makes a reservation to bring proof of occupation to present when picking up their vehicle.

Anyone coming to collect their vehicle can be assured that the pick-up points will have all needed security measures in place to keep everyone safe. This includes consistent hand washing of all employees, plexiglass counter screens, face masks, and social distancing.

Sixt is following the recommendations of the World Health Organization to reduce the risk of transmission during the outbreak. Every vehicle has to fulfill the Sixt Premium Cleaning Standard, meaning all vehicles are professionally cleaned in a multi-step cleaning process incorporating the latest products, including disinfectants, to minimise the risk of germ transmission.
