The city of Gwangju will launch South Korea’s first hydrogen carsharing program, according to a report by the Korea Herald.
The government said there will be 15 hydrogen vehicles as well as 27 all-electric vehicles available in the program, says the report. The hydrogen cars will be the Hyundai Tucson ix and the EVs will be the Hyundai Ioniq and the Kia Soul electric.
"If the feasibility is proven, more clean cars will be used in the city starting in 2018, with the program to be extended to nearby regions," official told the Korea Herald.
It’s predicted that people wanting to go on longer trips will chose the hydrogen vehicles while those with short commutes will favor the EVs, according to the report.
