Tabirai Japan, a travel site for foreigners operated by Pam, Inc., is aiming to prevent traffic accidents among the increasing number of foreign travelers visiting Japan, so that they can enjoy a safe trip to the country. The car rental booking site has established a traffic accident prevention page, geared toward Korean tourists, that explains frequently occurring accidents, Japanese traffic laws, traffic signs, etc.
Due to the recent increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan, the number of accidents involving rental cars driven by foreigners is increasing as well. Currently in Okinawa, the number of accidents involving wet driving conditions with foreign car rental users has increased about three times over three years from 2014 to 2016.
Provided by Budget rental car, the website summarizes common mistakes easily made by foreign travelers based on the specific causes of those accidents. The site also explains how to access a vehicle on the day of travel, traffic regulations, safe driving pointers, what measures to take should an accident occur, etc., through simulations that are divided into three stages.
Additionally, Tabirai's site investigates matters related to traffic in Korea and compares vehicle differences between Korea and Japan, such as the position of the vehicle’s basic equipment (steering wheel, indicator light, wiper).
