Tampa Airport Receives $477.4M Contract for Expansion Project
The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority approved a $437.4 million contract to help finish construction of Tampa International Airport’s rental car facility and automated people mover.
According to an article by TheLedger.com, the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority approved a $437.4 million contract for the Texas firm Austin Commercial to finish construction of Tampa International Airport’s $943 million expansion project.
Last year, Auto Rental News covered the announcement of the new project, which includes a rental car facility and 1.3 mile-long automated people mover system.
The latest construction updates, according to the article, revealed the rental car facility is over budget by $4.8 million due to an addition of 300,000 square feet, but the people mover is under budget by $5.1 million.
The article also reported $217.9 million of the new contract will go toward finishing the rental car facility and $219.5 million to the people mover.
