Tampa Bay-based Channel 10 News announced plans for a new consolidated rental car facility (conrac) at the Tampa International Airport.
The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority approved the $2.5 billion plan on April 4.
The $2.5 billion plan features a 1.3-mile people mover, more parking, a gas station, restaurant, and hotel, in addition to the consolidated rental car facility.

The new conrac would move rental car counters and cars from the main terminal to a facility 1.3 miles away to free up space. Also included in the plans is a 1.3-mile people mover connecting passengers to the rental car facility, more parking, a gas station, restaurant and hotel.
