Tax Firm WTP Advisors Welcomes New Leader in Chicago Office
Ned Leiby, a CPA and CFE with 25 years of experience in state and local tax issues, has been chosen to lead the Chicago office at WTP Advisors, a global tax and business advisory firm.
Ned Leiby — a CPA and CFE with 25 years of experience in multistate and local tax issues for large multinational corporations and middle market businesses — has been chosen to lead WTP Advisors’ Chicago office.
WTP Advisors is a global tax and business advisory firm.
“Ned’s level of expertise in state and local tax issues is critical for companies who are trying to steer through an increasingly complicated tax landscape in the U.S.,” says Ian Boccaccio, partner and co-founder of WTP Advisors.
Given the current federal budget issues, Leiby believes that programs like production tax credits, Medicaid and education — traditionally funded by Congress — will now be pushed down to state agencies, prompting state departments of revenue to seek out additional sources of revenue.
“The states continue to grapple with how to tax industries driven by technology such as cloud computing and other transactions entered into over the Internet,” says Leiby. “While most businesses want uniformity amongst states in this regard, in actuality there is increasing lack of uniformity amongst states, which will only continue to create more traps for the unwary.”
WTP Advisors works on a like-kind exchange program, a tax program for offsetting costs on vehicle inventory.
