Thrifty Car Rental South Africa selected Novatel Wireless' Mobile Tracking device, the MT 2500, to manage and protect its fleet against theft, damage and loss in the area, according to an Oct. 9 press release.

The MT 2500 captures and monitors driver behavior, relaying vehicle information on rapid acceleration, harsh braking, speed violations and excessive idling. It is also equipped with an optional battery for communications when power is lost.
