TULSA, Okla. -- Thrifty Car Rental has begun paying a 5% commission to travel agents who book rentals on Thrifty's homepage for corporate clients.

The commission will not be paid on corporate reservations made using other booking methods.

The commission change applies to agencies worldwide for corporate customers traveling in the U.S. or Canada. Some exceptions may apply, Thrifty said.

"In order to provide the best possible rental rates for our corporate customers, it is necessary that we direct this business to thrifty.com," said Bob Thunell, staff vice president of national sales for Thrifty Car Rental.
