On Jan. 17, Statista, a provider of market and consumer data, released a list of the top car rental companies in the U.K. The company’s Consumer Insights sheds light on consumers’ perspectives on rental car hires.
This survey asked U.K. customers about their experiences with different rental companies. It found that as of August 2022, the most popular brand among consumers was Enterprise Rent-A-Car, in which 84% said they would use the company again. Hertz (77%), Europcar (76%), and ACE (74%) were the next in line, while only half of respondents said they would opt for National again.
According to the announcement, in the same Brand Profiler, Statista researchers found that when it comes to selecting car rental companies, roughly one in five said they relied on brands they know and trust (22%), while 17% said that a low price over high quality was important. Only 15% felt well-informed when it comes to car rentals.
"We’re in the business of earning the trust of our customers, and, according to U.K. customers, we still have more work to do!” said Richard Wayne, customer experience manager for for ACE Rent A Car.
"With a proven track record in the U.S., we’re seeing that our core philosophies are translating well in places like the U.K." added Rachel Crockett, director of brand services for ACE Rent A Car. "It’s always a thrill to get to see how we stack up amongst this group of incredible brands."
