The Columbus Regional Airport Authority announced TranSystems Corporation of Ohio has been selected to design a new rental car facility at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
The new facility, which will be paid for by rental car customer user fees, will be constructed in 2018 and 2019 and is slated to open in 2020.

The nearly $2.5 million contract with TranSystems calls for the design firm to verify the required size of the rental car facility and create 30 percent design drawings by July. TranSystems has extensive experience with designing similar rental car facilities at airports in San Jose, San Antonio and Chicago.
“The new rental car facility will address capacity issues in the garage while also serving as the first key component to positioning John Glenn International for the development of a new terminal,” said Elaine Roberts, president and CEO of the Columbus Regional Airport Authority.
