Frequent Business Traveler’s GlobeRunner Awards honor the world's best hotels, airlines, car rental agencies, travel websites and other travel-related providers.

Travel Magazine Names Hertz Best Rental Car Chain

Hertz was named the “Best Rental Car Chain in the World” by readers of Frequent Business Traveler, an online publication written for and by international travelers.

The Frequent Business Traveler GlobeRunner Awards recognize the world's best airlines, hotels chains, automobile manufacturers, car rental agencies, luggage manufacturers and travel websites.

For best hotel chain, Hilton was recognized as the favorite in the Americas, Asia/Pacific (APAC) and Europe/Middle East /Africa (EMEA). Delta Air Lines and United Airlines shared top honors as best airline in the Americas, LOT Polish Airlines won its award for best in Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Singapore Airlines scored highest in the Asia/Pacific region.

"Every day, our readers crisscross the globe, patronizing the world’s leading hotels, airlines and travel-related services,” said Jonathan Spira, editorial director of Frequent Business Traveler. “The GlobeRunner Awards are their awards. Their knowledge and desire for the best are reflected in the list of winners we are recognizing.”

Other winners included:

- Best Airport in the Americas: John F. Kennedy International Airport
- Best Credit/Charge Card Points Program: American Express Membership Rewards
- Best Mobile Phone Coverage in North America: AT&T
- Best Luggage Maker: Samsonite
- Best Travel Tool and App: Google Maps

Voting was conducted online from March 14 through May 31 — with over 150,000 votes casted by readers, a 40% year-over-year increase.
