American car rental franchise brand U-Save Car & Truck Rental, which was acquired by Green Motion International in late 2022, recently expanded its franchise operations into Canada.

The company on Nov. 6 announced it sold its franchises for Vancouver, B.C., and Calgary, Alberta, to fast-food and car rental entrepreneur Brad Elliott along with his wife Heather, son Jeff, and daughter Nicole.

Elliott and his family, who run multiple businesses including the fast-food franchise Five Guys along with a successful local car rental business, joined U-Save to further grow their franchise business portfolio.

“This is another major moment in the growth and development of U-Save, and to have a family with such incredible experience not only in car rental but wider franchising is fantastic,” said Richard Lowden, president of U-Save International, in a news release.

"I have no doubt that our partnership with Brad and his family in Calgary and Vancouver is just the start of what I believe will be a tremendous journey."

Brad and Heather Elliott added, "This is a very exciting journey to embark upon for our family and for the future.”

U-Save, established in 1979, now operates in more than 15 countries outside the U.S. on a franchise-only model. Green Motion, the world's largest auto rental dedicated franchised organization, runs 650 locations operating in 70 countries across six continents.
