Uber has announced that its U.K. users will be able to book intercity rail and coach tickets on the app later this summer, according to a company press release. Later this year, Uber will expand its offering by adding flight and cross-channel train tickets into its app.
Rail, coach, and airline tickets will be available through several partners that are integrated into the Uber app, according to the company.
Additionally, Uber is rolling out nationwide car rentals on the app.
“Everyone values the freedom to make travel arrangements in a simple and convenient way, which is why we’re excited to become a one-stop shop for all your travel needs,” said Jamie Heywood, Uber’s regional general manager, U.K., Northern & Eastern Europe. “You have been able to book rides, bikes, boat services, and scooters on the Uber app for a number of years, so adding trains and coaches is a natural progression. Later this year we plan to incorporate flights, and in the future hotels, by integrating leading partners into the Uber app to create a seamless door-to-door travel experience.”
In the coming months, Uber will confirm the partners that will be featured on its app, including national rail and coach companies as well as car rental and flight services.
