Uber has opened numerous kiosks at the Toronto Peterson International Airport that will let passengers request rides without their phones, Mobilesyrup reports.
The kiosks are meant to help travelers whose phones have died, or who didn't bring their phones in the first place.
Customers can request an Uber by entering their name, phone number, and destination into one of the kiosks, which are equipped with monitors and iPads. Travelers will then pay via credit card using a chip reader.
An Uber spokesperson told the news source the kiosks are just a trial between the company and the airport; it's not known if it will be expanded to other airports in the future.
Rental operators can now detect and act on speeding while vehicles are still on rent, thereby reducing fines, admin workload, vehicle wear, and safety risks.
