ARLINGTON, Va. -- Beginning June 12, US Airways will offer nonstop Saturday service to three Florida destinations from Baltimore/Washington International (BWI); Columbus, Ohio; Greenville, S.C.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Providence, R.I.; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; and Richmond, Va.
New nonstop service to Orlando will operate each Saturday using 126-seat Boeing 737-300 aircraft to and from BWI, Columbus, Harrisburg and Raleigh/Durham. Saturday nonstop Providence-Fort Lauderdale service will also operate using 737 aircraft, the airline said.
From Greenville and Richmond, new Saturday service will be offered to and from Orlando and Tampa using 50-seat Canadair Regional Jets (CRJs) operated by US Airways Express carriers Mesa Airlines and PSA Airlines, respectively.
Additionally, two more Charlotte, N.C.-Pensacola flights will operate each Saturday using 50-seat CRJs operated by Mesa Airlines, increasing the Saturday schedule on this route to five roundtrip flights.
US Airways and US Airways Express currently operate 32 flights to Orlando each Saturday, with service from Albany, Buffalo and Syracuse, N.Y., Charlotte (eight flights), Hartford, Conn., Panama City, Fla., Philadelphia (nine flights), Pittsburgh (four flights), Providence and Ronald Reagan Washington National (five flights).
At Fort Lauderdale, US Airways and the Express carriers currently operate 23 flights each Saturday, with service from Charlotte (eight flights), Philadelphia (eight flights), Pittsburgh (three flights), and Ronald Reagan Washington National (four flights).
At Tampa, US Airways and US Airways Express operate 30 flights each Saturday, with service from Charlotte (eight flights), Fort Walton Beach, Key West (two flights), Miami (two flights), Palm Beach, Panama City, Pensacola (two flights), Philadelphia (seven flights), Pittsburgh (four flights), and Ronald Reagan Washington National (four flights).
