Demand for the all-new Volvo XC90 has helped develop a partnership between Volvo Cars of North America and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. While waiting for their XC90 to arrive, Volvo customer who have a car lease or loan expiring are eligible to rent the Volvo XC60 from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
“Customers are excited about the XC90, and we are happy to accommodate them while they await their all-new XC90,” said North Holbrook, Manager of Commercial Sales, Volvo Cars of North America. “Our partnership with Enterprise Rent-A-Car is all about providing convenience to our customers.”
Thirty-thousand XC90s, more than half of the first year’s projected sales, were sold globally ahead of the car’s official launch, says the company.
“Through this partnership, we’re able to help Volvo’s customers get behind the wheel of another Volvo vehicle while they wait for their new car,” said Susan Lombardo, senior vice president of vehicle acquisition, Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
As part of the program, Enterprise will purchase the XC60 vehicles from local Volvo dealerships and will sell them back to those dealers after approximately six months.
Customers can reserve their Enterprise rental directly from their local Volvo dealership when they pre-order the XC90, according to the company. When their new vehicle arrives, an Enterprise employee will take the customer to the Volvo dealership to pick up the car.
