Walla Walla Regional Airport Still Offers Two Auto Rental Companies
Although the West One Hertz franchise left its operation at the Walla Walla airport last month, Hertz’s parent company took over its spot on June 1.
Walla Walla airport travelers still have two options when it comes to choosing a car rental company.
The West One Hertz franchise decided to close its airport location last month, but Hertz’s parent company, Hertz Corporate, took over its place on June 1. Budget also currently operates at the airport.
According to Jennifer Skoglund, airport manager at Walla Walla Regional Airport, West One Hertz franchise had been operating at the airport since 1997.
“They were finding that their gross income and rental transactions had been declining since 2008-2009,” said Skoglund. “They felt the effects that rural airports tend to have with a decreased flight schedule.”
With both Hertz and Budget operating at the airport, travelers can choose their preference, according to Skoglund.
“I believe based on the number of annual car rental transactions at Walla Walla that we have an airport that can definitely sustain more than two car agencies,” said Skoglund.
