Zipcar Increases Support to Marketing Team in the UK
Zipcar appointed a new marketing director, PR agency and media agency to expand the brand in the UK.
Zipcar UK appointed a new marketing director to join its team, along with a public relations agency and media agency for increased leverage.
Andrew Barclay was selected as the marketing director to expand and focus on Zipcar’s operations in the UK. Prior to joining Zipcar, Barclay was the head of marketing at Best Buy, Paddy Power PLC and Moss Bros PLC.
Working from Zipcar’s London head office in Wimbledon, Barclay will now be responsible for building and implementing strategies to drive acquisition, revenue growth and brand awareness in the UK market.
In addition, Zipcar appointed the PR agency Weber Shandwick and media agency Universal McCann, to launch a $1 million spring advertising campaign to support Barclay’s plans in London.
“In the U.S. Zipcar is a strong, instantly recognizable brand that has become synonymous as the smart alternative to car ownership, and I look forward to leveraging the service benefits and building the brand to normalize car sharing here in the UK,” Barclay said.
