Zipcar Inc. launched its car sharing service in Tacoma, Wash. on Sept. 27 to provide Tacoma residents, visitors and businesses with access to car sharing transportation options.

Zipcar will bring 10 vehicles to the city, of which six will be located in downtown Tacoma in on-street parking spots. Gas, reserved parking spots, insurance, roadside assistance and up to 180 miles per day are included in the hourly and daily Zipcar rates.

“We are a city that is committed to practical sustainability initiatives,” said Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland. “Zipcar is a great addition to our urban core as we strive to improve it with flexible and affordable transportation options.”
