Zipcar Starts Service at Three New York Airports
The cars are located in Zipcar-branded parking spaces at the Avis Car Rental pick-up facility at each airport.
Zipcar started services at three New York area airports including Newark Liberty, LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy (JFK) airports with 13 vehicles, according to a company announcement on March 20.
Zipcar is currently offering four vehicles at Newark Liberty Airport, four vehicles at LaGuardia Airport and five vehicles at JFK.
The cars are located in Zipcar-branded parking spaces at the Avis Car Rental pick-up facility at each airport.
Rates start at $12 per hour and $89 per day to rent a Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra model. Gas, insurance and 180 miles per day are included in the price.
The vehicles contain E-ZPass readers, and members will be billed separately for the toll charges.
“The availability of Zipcars at airports will provide increased options for members who may not need a full day rental car, or for those who need to travel somewhere not easily accessible by public transit,” said Zipcar President Mark Norman. “We believe this is the first in many new offerings that will enhance the value of Zipcar membership that we can provide thanks to the support of the Avis Budget Group.”
