Zoomcar, an India-based car-sharing company, has expanded its services to a second city in India.

Now operating in Pune, it has four locations within the city. Vehicles include the Ford Figo, Ford Ecosport, Honda City, Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra XUV 500, Tata Safari and a Mercedes A Class, says the company.

Zoomcar allows customers to rent vehicles on the web or on mobile apps for both Android and iOS. Advanced technology is present across the process — from vehicle search to payments, to documentation, to pick-up and drop-off, says the company.

"Now we are getting a huge reaction to our launch in Pune,” said David Back, co-founder and president. “People in this city don't need or want a car every day because employer transport and two-wheelers provide a great way to get around day-to-day. But sometimes, people need a car."

Originally launched in Bangalore in February 2013, it has expanded from one location with seven cars to over 200 vehicles in more than 35 locations in Bangalore. Zoomcar has plans to continue to add new vehicles and new locations, according to the company.
