A new rental car center has opened at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, according to a report by 10 WBNS. The $134-million center is a short bus ride from the airport terminal. Battery-electric buses will pick up and drop off passengers.

The new center will feature nine rental car companies, according to the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. Rental companies include Alamo Rent A Car, Budget Rent A Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, Avis Car Rental, Dollar Rent A Car, Hertz, and Thrifty Car Rental. The 900,000-square-foot center has resulted in about 1,600 new jobs, says the report.

For airport customers, the relocation of the new center has freed up about 1,700 parking spaces in the airport’s garage parking.
