Hertz has launched the world’s first Cinema Car, one of the largest family cars in its fleet transformed into a fully equipped movie theater on the go. The new, in-car silver screen experience comes as the rental car company celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The exclusive Hertz Cinema Car, currently available in the U.K. until the end of the year, comes with an ultra-thin 42-inch screen, illuminated by LED lights, a red, cinema-style, velvet curtains, and surround, cinema-like sound. To top off the unique experience, the Hertz Cinema Car features plush, comfortable, red velvet seats – perfect for settling in to watch hours of films – and drinkholders for movie refreshments.

Passengers can access their personal streaming services accounts via the new Hertz Connect portable device, which provides unlimited 4G, ‘Go Anywhere’ Wi-Fi, as well as other exclusive services — such as free international calls, a translation tool, and destination guides.

The Cinema Car will tour Hertz U.K. branches, including London Heathrow, London Marble Arch, and Edinburgh Airport, giving customers the chance to get in and experience it for themselves.

Hertz is also launching the Cinema Car in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain in the upcoming weeks.
