Avis Budget Group Named to ‘America's Top Corporations' List
The Women's Business Enterprise National Council included the car rental company on this list for the tenth consecutive year.
For the tenth consecutive year, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) named Avis Budget Group to its list of “America’s Top Corporations for Women’s Business Enterprises.”
The WBENC is an advocate for and authority on women’s business enterprises as suppliers and vendors to the nation’s corporations.
“Avis Budget Group is a world-class supplier diversity leader in the travel industry,” said Linda Denny, president and chief executive officer of WBENC. “The company’s best practices prevail in even the most challenging environments and its innovative programs help to level the playing fields for women’s business enterprises.”
Avis Budget Group was one of 21 U.S. corporations recognized in 2009 for superior supplier diversity programs that provide women’s business enterprises equal access to corporate contracts. Other companies that were recognized include, Chevron, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, PepsiCo Inc. and Verizon.
“Avis Budget Group is committed to providing women-owned, minority and small businesses with equal access to the same opportunities large corporations have,” said Ronald L. Nelson, Avis Budget Group chairman and chief executive officer. “We appreciate WBENC’s award and are honored to be recognized for the 10th year in a row.”
