Car2Go Ends Service in 5 Cities

Carsharing group Car2go will be ending its service in Austin, Denver, Portland, Chicago, and Calgary, Alberta, within the coming months, according to Freight Waves.
In an email informing Portland members of the closure, Car2go officials said that city "is a complex transportation market that requires a significant investment on the part of any mobility provider wanting to enter the city and unfortunately, we are unable to continue doing so in a manner that’s sustainable for our business."
Austin, Denver, Calgary, and Portland will end service Oct. 31 at midnight; Chicago's service will end Dec. 31 at midnight.
