CarTrawler provides an online car rental platform to over 80 international airlines.
“Ancillary revenue is an increasingly important driver of commercial success, and a major contributor to the bottom line of airlines across the globe,” said Michael Cunningham, chief commercial officer of CarTrawler. “The secret to unlocking this revenue stream can be found in the data that customers generate with every transaction, and we’re delighted that Austrian Airlines is partnering with CarTrawler to make the most of that opportunity. Ancillary revenue is no longer just the preserve of low cost carriers — it is something from which all airlines are benefiting. The question is not who is doing it; it’s how well it is being done.”
Austrian Airlines flies to around 130 destinations from the company’s hub at Vienna International Airport. It’s part of the Lufthansa Group and a member of the Star Alliance.
“Due to our collaboration with CarTrawler, our customers benefit from a significant expansion of our rental car offering,” said Alexander Leinhart, responsible for partner management of Austrian Airlines’ e-commerce business. “They can compare the offerings of numerous rental car companies for almost all Austrian Airlines destinations online before their departure and quickly and conveniently book a suitable rental car, from compact cars to luxury limousines.”
