The Tuesday morning keynote for the 2023 International Car Rental Show (ICRS) has been unveiled. On April 18, after breakfast and the Impact Award presentation, two heavy hitters will take the stage to share their predictions for the coming year in car rental.

In “Projections for 2023: Economy, Market Conditions, Pricing & Inventory,” Cox Automotive’s chief economist Jonathan Smoke will kick it off with an analysis of the U.S. economy and the trends directly impacting car rental. He’ll share current market conditions around vehicle sales, pricing, inventory, and supply issues, before a discussion on industry disruptors and risks. Black Book’s Chief Data Science Officer Alex Yurchenko will then dive into wholesale price projections, available inventory, vehicle mix, and Black Book's price projections.

The discussion will include an update on electrification in the rental and commercial fleet market and end with an interactive audience Q&A. The session will be moderated by Chris Brown, ICRS conference chair and Bobit fleet group editor.

“The data from both Cox Automotive and Black Book — combined with insights from two of the industry’s foremost market analysts — will give ICRS attendees the big picture for 2023 to confidently steer their companies,” said Chris Brown, executive editor of Auto Rental News and conference chair.

The 2023 ICRS convenes April 16-18 at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Registration is now open.
