Europcar Gains Facebook ‘Likes’ through Social Media Competition
The Europcar ‘Caraoke’ competition that ran from July to August boosted the number of Facebook ‘likes’ by 33%.
According to a company announcement on Sept. 17, Europcar’s social media competition in the UK brought in 33% more “likes” on the company's Facebook page.
The Europcar Caraoke Competition ran on YouTube and Facebook from July to August in search of the UK’s best in-car karaoke performer.
Europcar reported that 148 videos were submitted, which were watched by 79,578 members of the public via YouTube.
The winner, David Sodergren of Edinburgh, was chosen based on hundreds of votes by the general public on the Europcar Facebook page.
“It was another example of Europcar’s focus on engaging with consumers, using social media to create a buzz around our brand by reaching out to a new audience,” said Europcar UK Managing Director Ken McCall. “We had a 33% increase in Facebook ‘likes’ equating to a quarter of a million additional reach since the start of the competition, so we’re very pleased with the results achieved.”
