Antonio Llinas Oñate, CEO of Europcar Mexico, plans to extend the Europcar brand throughout Mexico.

With offices recently opening in Durango, San Luis Potosi, and Puerto Escondido, the Europcar Mexico franchise plans to expand to more states in the Mexican Republic, adding 26 states and Mexico City, where the company already has a presence.

Europcar wants to bring its technology -- developed in Cancun, headquarters of the Europcar Mexico franchise -- to all the locations.

Llinas Oñate has decided to invest in more technology to offer a more digital rental service with less human contact. With an investment of more than 10 million pesos, he said that he wants to digitize the rental process in Mexico. That way, customers can use their smartphones to rent a vehicle without having to download an app.

At the beginning of 2020, before the coronavirus pandemic, Europcar Mexico implemented self-service and online check-in.

With self-service, customers with a reservation can go directly to the self-service area and use tablets to complete the rental process.
