Green Motion Cyprus, led by entrepreneur Chrystal Michael, has become the first car rental operator in Cyprus to introduce a dedicated electric vehicle (EV) fleet.

The launch, featuring the MG ZS EV, is part of Green Motion’s global Drive Zero campaign, which champions the adoption of cleaner, more sustainable mobility solutions.

The MG ZS EV is a budget-friendly, 100% electric crossover SUV produced by the Chinese manufacturer SAIC Motor under the MG marque.

This milestone not only marks a major step for Green Motion Cyprus but also strengthens the company’s contribution to building greener, more sustainable transportation for the island.

Customers will now have access to cutting-edge, eco-friendly vehicles that reduce emissions while offering the same rental experience as do other fleet vehicles.

“This is more than just a business milestone,” said Michael, owner and operator of Green Motion Cyprus, in a Sept. 25 news release. “It’s a clear demonstration of our commitment to sustainability and our desire to help accelerate the adoption of electric mobility across the island. Our customers can now enjoy not only the convenience of a world-class car rental service but also the satisfaction of making a positive impact on the environment.”

The Cyprus operation is designed to encourage customers worldwide to make more sustainable choices. Complementing this, Green Motion’s Green Heart campaign, which supports global reforestation projects through a partnership with FONAFIFO, ensures that every rental contributes to the restoration of vital forest ecosystems.

“The launch of this EV fleet with MG marks an important milestone not only for Cyprus but also for our global franchise network,” said Richard Lowden, founder and CEO of Green Motion International. “With Green Motion now present in more than 80 countries worldwide, initiatives like this showcase the power of our network to drive positive environmental change.”
