Hertz Announces Enhancements to Carfimations Alert Service
The updated Carfirmations alert service allows customers to execute a vehicle change prior to picking up their rental directly from their smartphone.
The Hertz Corp. updated its Carfirmations alert service to allow Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members to select an upgraded or different rental vehicle at 50 airport locations from their smartphone, according to a Jan. 3 press release.
Hertz Carfimations is an email and text service that notifies members about their rental vehicle information and car location. With the update, the notifications will give customers three options to switch to a different car, select the Deal of the Day or upgrade their rental car. NeverLost GPS will also be available to add at select locations.
A pilot of the upgraded service was launched in Los Angeles, Calif. and Washington D.C. throughout December until it reached the top 50 airport locations in the U.S this month.
Hertz said the pilot program received positive responses from the customers who participated.
The Carfirmations upgrade follows other technology upgrades from Hertz including Hertz Gold Choice, e-Return and ExpressRent Interactive Kiosks.
“Our customers expect speed and convenience which is why we continue to invest in user-friendly services and tools to meet their expectations in an increasingly technology-driven world,” said Hertz Chairman and CEO Mark P. Frissora. “Carfirmations now give our valued Gold Members the ability to upgrade their reserved rental directly from their mobile devices as soon as they've landed.”
