National Car Rental is now offering complimentary Emerald Club Lounges at select U.S. airports. Travelers who visit an Emerald Club lounge can enjoy free Wi-Fi, charging stations, and access to tablets and TVs to check flight status and get the latest news updates.

Open to all travelers, the pop-up facilities launched this week at airports in Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Sacramento (SMF), St. Louis (STL), and Washington Dulles (IAD) and will remain until April 2017. Then they will travel to new airport locations in summer 2017, according to National.

All airport locations were selected based on the percentage of passengers who travel for business.
National named the lounges after its Emerald Club loyalty program, which expedites the rental process by offering counter bypass as well as access to National’s “Emerald Aisle,” a section of the lot where members can select any vehicle as long as they reserved a mid-sized car.

“We understand that travel – particularly business travel – can be tiring,” said Rob Conners, National Car Rental’s vice president of brand marketing. “So National developed the Emerald Club Lounge to provide a convenient place at the airport where travelers can relax and recharge while interacting with the brand in a unique way. This is our second year offering the in-terminal lounges, and we’ve received great feedback from travelers who have had the chance to enjoy them before they board their flights or during layovers.”

Each lounge is featured post security in one terminal per airport and is open 24/7 with a National staff member on duty from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday. While in the lounge, visitors can also get information about the National app, watch National’s new TV commercials, and enroll in the Emerald Club.
