PurInspect Helps Avis, Budget Rent a Car of Wisconsin Inspect Rental Fleets
The vehicle inspection app ensures all types of inspections are consistent across all locations, regardless of who does it.

The app-based service has interactive diagrams across different vehicle types and is available on iOS and Android. The app functions on a smartphone or tablet and is shareable with all relevant interested and vested parties.

PurCo on April 15 announced Midwestern Wheels, Inc. as the first customer to use their vehicle inspection app, PurInspect, and which has carried out over 200,000 vehicle inspections across its operations in Wisconsin.
Midwestern Wheels, Inc. (MWI), the US licensee for Avis and Budget Rent a Car in Wisconsin has about 10 vehicle rental locations covering the state’s major cities and airports.
Following a successful trial at two locations, the rental car provider proved PurInspect could be used for all MWI inspections regardless of the reason for the inspection and the lifecycle point of the vehicle. Altogether, PurInspect is now being used in 10 locations by over 50 inspectors who have produced over 200,000 inspections of all types to date.
“With PurInspect, we quickly realized that from fleet inventory in-fleeting to rental ready-stall preparation, and customer handover and return, through to end-of-life and de-fleeting, PurInspect could be easily configured to suit our needs,” said Jeremiah Schwersenska, director of revenue for fleet and strategic planning at Midwestern Wheels, Inc. “It means our inspectors and customer-facing staff always have a relevant inspection and checklist to use at the right time, for the task at hand. PurInspect is a great example of where MWI is investing in solutions that are of great benefit to both our customers and our staff.”
The app-based service has interactive diagrams across different vehicle types and is available on iOS and Android. The app functions on a smartphone or tablet and is shareable with all relevant interested and vested parties.
“PurInspect gives our business a modern approach to a high-volume task,” Schwersenska added. “It means we can ensure all the different types of inspection we carry out are consistent across our locations, regardless of who does it. And, as a management team, we can see them all in real-time.”
