Peer-to-peer carsharing service Turo has launched in Canada. This is the company’s first expansion outside the U.S., according to a report by the Toronto Sun.
Currently, drivers in Ontario, Quebec, and Alberta can use the Turo carsharing platform.
Users can list a vehicle through the service and it will become available for pre-approved travelers to rent, says the report. Or users can pick up a car through Turo when on vacation or if they want to try out a new car.
“We’re helping people turn their car from a cost center into an earnings engine, and helping travelers find the best car to travel,” Andre Haddad, Turo’s CEO told the Toronto Sun. “We’re trying to find a smart way that reinvents the economics of car ownership, and reinvents the access to cars when you need them.”
Peer-to-peer carsharing company RelayRides rebranded itself as Turo in November 2015.
