Zipcar has announced its partnership with the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority to bring its carsharing service to Cape Cod. Zipcar will provide two vehicles at the Hyannis Transportation Center.
“Zipcar is thrilled to be expanding our ‘wheels when you want them’ service to Cape Cod,” said Jeremy Pomp, regional general manager of Zipcar. “Area visitors and residents now have all the benefits of car ownership without the cost and hassles of having to travel with one. Take the CapeFLYER down to the Cape and grab a Zipcar for just the time you need it.”
“CCRTA is happy to partner with Zipcar,” said Thomas S. Cahir, CCRTA’s administrator. “It is our intention to provide a multi-modal network here at the Hyannis Transportation Center and provide a variety of transportation alternatives to residents and visitors. We want to encourage mobility on the Cape while simultaneously reducing the need for more cars.”
Additionally, Zipcar added two vehicles at the Steamship Authority in Falmouth, Mass. Now, four vehicles will be available for reservation by the hour or by the day, according to Zipcar.
