Green Motion recently added another location in Germany, opening a new state-of-the-art in-terminal facility at Hamburg International Airport.
The franchise is operated by serial car rental professional Stefan Schwirtz, who most recently was Sixt's senior area director, whose career spanned 33 years.
“Stefan, in a very short period of time, has done an incredible job acquiring a fantastic facility at the Hamburg airport, which I'm confident will support our drive in this very important European market,” said Richard Lowden, the founder and CEO of Green Motion, in a March 11 news release.
This is Green Motion’s third opening in the German market behind locations on-terminal at Memmingen Airport and Munich Airport. The brand also recently announced that it will be opening later this year in-terminal at Berlin Airport.
Hamburg Airport is a major international airport serving the second-largest city in Germany. Since November 2016 the airport has been named after the former German chancellor Helmut Schmidt, according to Wikipedia. It is the fifth busiest of Germany’s commercial airports measured by the number of passengers and counted 13,559,732 passengers and 120,315 aircraft movements in 2023.
Green Motion along with its sister brand U-Save are platinum sponsors and exhibitors at the International Car Rental Show in Las Vegas April 14-16, where attendees can learn more about the company German operations.
