Green Motion International and U-Save Car and Truck Rental recently started operations in Panama with a location at the primary international airport serving the continental isthmus nation.
Panamanian entrepreneur Firoz Bikhu acquired the franchises. His family business is a leading force in the country’s automotive sector with a strong presence in vehicle dealerships and body repair services.
As part of a move to integrate forward in the mobility chain, Firoz and his family established an independent car rental operation, initially focused on serving Panama’s domestic business segment.
Building on this strong foundation, they identified an opportunity to accelerate growth by aligning with international brands and giving them the opportunity to secure a coveted in-terminal booth at Tocumen International Airport — a vision realized through the acquisition of the Green Motion and U-Save franchises.
Paul Patterson Mangel, a seasoned car rental professional with extensive international experience in managing mobility brands, will lead the operations.
Together, Firoz, Paul, and their team aim to position Green Motion and U-Save as the go-to car rental providers for both international visitors and the local business community in Panama.
“The team’s deep understanding of the local automotive sector, combined with international operational expertise, provides the perfect foundation for growth,” said Richard Lowden, founder and CEO of Green Motion International and president of U-Save Car and Truck Rental, in a Sept. 11 news release. “This launch not only strengthens our presence in Central America but also represents another significant step in the ongoing development of both our brands across the Americas.”
The opening of operations in Panama highlights the growing momentum of both brands across Latin America and underscores their service to international travelers and local customers.
